「お料理の説明をさせていただきます」を英語で何て？

例えば高級店のコース料理の場合、お出ししたお料理を説明しますよね。

「手前にありますのが～」とか、「奥にございますのが～」とか言いながら。

今日のブログでは、「お料理の説明をさせていただきます」と、手前、右、左、奥、右奥、左奥を英語で言う方法をご紹介します♪

動画内の接客英語を確認しよう

動画ではお客様とこのようなやり取りをしています。

• 店員　　：Here is your fish meal.
• お客様Ｃ：Thank you.
• 店員　　：Please let me explain your dishes. The one at the front is sea urchin and tofu skin, the one on the right is abalone’s tempura, and the one on the left is salted white cucumbers.
• お客様Ａ：Looks delicious!
• 店員　　：Thank you.

「●●させていただきます」は “Please let me ●●.”

「●●させていただきます」や「●●させてください」という時は、”Please let me ●●.” を使いますよ～、と「ご予約内容を確認させていただきます」のブログで既に書きましたね。

例えばこちら↓

• １）メニューを説明させていただきます
  ⇒ Please let me explain our menu.
• ２）食べ方を説明させてください
  ⇒ Please let me explain how to eat.
• ３）何かありましたらお声がけください
  ⇒ Please let me know if you need anything.

そんなわけで、「お料理の説明をさせていただきます」はこう言います。

Please let me explain your dishes.

ただ、ここでは詳しいことは割愛しますので、詳細が知りたい方は「ご予約内容を確認させていただきます」のブログを読んで下さい(^ ^)

「手前にありますのが」「奥にございますのが」という位置を英語で

では続いて、位置を表す英語です。

まずはざっくりと日本語と英訳をご紹介。

• 手前にありますのが▲▲です：The one at the front is ▲▲.
• 奥にありますのが▲▲です：The one at the back is ▲▲.
• 右にありますのが▲▲です：The one on the right is ▲▲.
• 左にありますのが▲▲です：The one on the left is ▲▲.
• 右奥にありますのが▲▲です：The one on the back right is ▲▲.
• 左奥にありますのが▲▲です：The one on the back left is ▲▲.
• ●●の隣にありますのが▲▲です：The one next to the ●● is ▲▲.

もう少しリアルな感じでいってみましょう。

• 手前にありますのが鱧のお吸い物です：The one at the front is sea eel soup.
• 奥にありますのが鱧のお吸い物です：The one at the back is sea eel soup.
• 右にありますのがお刺身です：The one on the right is sashimi.
• 左にありますのがお刺身です：The one on the left is sashimi.
• 右奥にありますのが鮎の焼き物です：The one on the back right is grilled sweetfish.
• 左奥にありますのが鮎の焼き物です：The one on the back left is grilled sweetfish.
• お吸い物の隣にありますのがキスの揚げ物です：The one next to the soup is deep-fried sand borer.

つまり、まとめますと、

「●●にありますのが」が “The one ●● is” で、

●●の中に “at the front” とか “on the right” とかを入れ、

最後に料理名を言う。

これで位置とお料理名を英語で言えるようになるのです！

ちなみに、ツアーの添乗員さんが「右手に見えますのが東京タワーです」とか言うじゃないですか？

あれも今回の言い方を応用して、”The one on your right hand side is the Tokyo Tower.” と言います。（余談すぎ～）
